The resourceful internet has done it again. This time, somebody spotted the mention of two new Lego games being “in development” on the CV of one of “Traveller’s Tales” employees. The mention has since been removed from said CV, but the employee did end up confirming that development for both the games are getting along quite nicely.
According to the employee, both Lego Harry Potter and Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in development at the UK studio of Traveler’s Tales. This comes after months of rumours of the two games being produced.
Neither of the games have been officially announced, but attempts are being made to contact Traveler’s Tales, Activision and Warner Bros, who own the development studio. Earlier this year, sources inside the studio confirmed that no Lego Harry Potter games will be arriving in 2009, which most likely means that Lego Indiana Jones 2 will arrive in time for the Christmas shopping period.
Personally, I’m very excited about this. Both my oldest two kids, and me, have spent numerous hours playing the Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, and more recently, Lego Batman, on numerous platforms, from the PC, to the XBox 360, to the Nintendo DS, to the Wii. The TV-consoles have been the most favourite though, sa they allow nice same-screen multiplayer in the comfort of your couch. Having Harry Potter make it into the Lego world will just be the bee’s knees for m… I mean, for the kids! And so far, Traveler’s Tales have done only fantastic things for the Lego games, so these two almost-confirmed titles can only be a good thing.
Here’s to hoping the games get officially announced, and we get some release dates.
