Ident’s Gesture Cube
February 6, 2010 | Digital Lifestyle | 0 CommentsAs the name would imply; the gesture cube is a gesture based interface system. Being a cube the gadget allows you to use, twist, turn, minimize and pinch data via a three dimensional interface. You must really have a look at the video I posted at the end of this to get a better understanding of how this device’s interface will look and work.
The interface is setup so that each side of the cube serves a different function and by “throwing” or moving data around you are allowed access to each different function. Think of it as a touch screen mini PC with your e-mail on one side of the cube and mp3 playlist on another and so forth.
The gesture cube will allow many of the functions we’d expect in a modern “tablet” device such as this, including the ability to sync with mobile devices. The way the Gesture Cube works on a practical level is it detects movement and distance in three dimensional space, thus allowing the user to interact with it and use it without any physical touching of the device (get ready to scream at your little nephews/brothers/sisters to please not TOUCH the screen!).
Here’s a video giving you more details on this gadget, it will also give you a better idea on just how practical and useful this device can end up being, it’s really a very cool concept.
