So Nintendo have done it again, the E3 expo was a buzz this week when Nintendo unveiled their new gaming consol. Wii U is a new console that includes a controller with a 6.2-inch screen. Adding a second screen to the living room creates a multitude of new video game experiences.

In addition to the 6.2-inch screen, the new controller also features an accelerometer and a gyroscope, a rumble feature, an inward-facing camera, a microphone and speakers. Adding these features to the Classic Controller button scheme – two analogue Circle Pads, +Control Pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, L/R buttons and ZL/ZR buttons.

With full HD graphics combined with motion-sensing game play, the new consol will be shipped with the new controller and will support up to four additional Wii Remote or Wii Remote Plus controllers. Best of all you will have the choice to either play through your TV and if necessary, switch to the controller screen without missing a beat.

The Nintendo Wii U is expected to be released in 2012, and don’t worry, your extensive range of Wii games will work on the Wii U too.

Garmin have launched two brand new road orientated satellite navigation units on to the market, the Nuvi 3760T and the Nuvi 3790T

The Garmin Nuvi 3790T/3760T is one of the thinnest and lightest PNS ever to grace the shelves.  It also happens to be a real looker.

The specs are here to impress measuring 4.8″W x 2.9″H x 0.35″D. You did read that right, only a third of an inch thick. Most of the acreage on the front of the device is taken up by the extremely impressive multi touch screen with an 800 x 480 pixel WVGA. The TFT screen has a bright white backlight and allows both landscape and portrait orientation.

Interestingly the glossy screen is so sparkly in direct sunlight you wonder if it could not have blinded Stevie Wonder.

A 4 hour rechargeable lithium ion battery keeps you on the road, although if you are walking with it around keep in mind that neither unit is water proof. Both slim units have very up to date high GPS sensitivity receivers.

Another keen perk is the trafficTrends system. It works to try and improve your routes and journey time accuracy by automatically learning the flow of traffic on roads regularly traveled. As you use the device you should see arrival time accuracy get better too.

The new Voice Command,limited unfortunately to the 3790T only, is truly hands-free and can be activated merely by speaking to the Nuvi. Bluetooth calling also helps drivers keep their hands on the wheel. Traffic data is free.

The Garmin Nuvi 3760/3790T is an exceptional portable navigation device with just the right blend of form and function.

For the average Joe like you and me, however, this question may not seem all that important. But it is. Really. Luckily, this is however, one of those times when the 80/20 rule applies. Buying a decent Keyboard and Mouse is one of the cheapest things you can buy for your PC, but they can have the biggest impact.

Lots of people struggle to work on their PC for extended periods of time. They get tired, their wrists ache, their backs hurt etc etc. This severely limits the amount of time you can spend on Facebook … You may have experienced something similar before. The solution, may be easier and cheaper than you think. Investing a few $$ in a Keyboard that is slightly curved, or has a better angle, softer keys, etc can make the world of difference when it comes to typing. The same is true for a mouse that slides easily, clicks properly and generally does what you tell it to do.

Logitech and Microsoft make a range of Keyboards and Mice that are MUCH more ergonomic than the free keyboard that came with your PC. If you haven’t tried it, we strongly suggest you take a look at a more upscale keyboard and mouse. It could change the way you use your PC.

Regarding the games that are included, you get Wii Sports which is bundled with every new Wii but with this Sports pack, you also receive Wii Sports Resort! Wii Sports Resort makes use of the new Wii Remote Plus (also included in this bundle) for even more realistic yet fun gaming! Games such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, FlingSmash (review coming soon!), Grand Slam Tennis and Shaun White Snowboarding all make use of the new MotionPlus remote, so its definitely something you’ll want in your Christmas stocking this year if you don’t have one yet.

You do have the choice of either the Nintendo Wii Black or White Sports pack, but go for the black! The Wii and remotes look really slick in black!

If you haven’t played yet, it’ll then create an avatar for you to adapt.	Non-gameplay Options    Hold your left hand out and down to activate the Kinect Guide. Make sure to keep your right arm down.

The new 250GB Xbox 360 S

With much anticipation, the new Xbox 360 S has hit Incredible Connection stores! The “S” stands for slim, but that’s not really the case, with the machine pretty much the same width at its widest point. What is Slim about the new Xbox is it runs whisper quite, has built in Wifi and support for Xbox Kinect right out of the box!

There are 2 models, the 4GB version with a matte black finish and the 250GB version that comes in glossy black. The 250GB HDD is definitely a step up on the XBox 360 Elite which came standard with a 120GB HDD. So all the more space to add music, movies and of course games!

The 4GB XBox 360 S retails for R2399.95 and comes with a 1 year warranty. The 250GB XBox 360 S is on sale for R3199.95. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra R800 and rather get the 250GB version. It’s well worth it!

With the Xbox Kinect launching in time for Christmas in South Africa, picking up the new Xbox 360 should definitely be on your priority list!

We can speculate as to the why and when for this decision, the important part of the story is that even if you purchased a Xbox with a tiny hard drive you will now be able to plug in a removable storage device and install full games at will thanks to this new feature.

The maximum storage amount is 16 gb per drive, as you can use up to two drives this leads to extra storage space totalling 32 gb. We all know how expensive console based storage is, this is a great initiative coming from the Xbox camp and the update is available in the form of a firmware update download.

As many of you will know by now, the latest idea brewing in the gaming world is that of 3D gaming; think of it like the time you watched Avatar in 3D. Well that’s basically the concept, except you would be playing games in 3D. It must be noted that bringing 3D gaming to a PC or notebook is not as simple as putting on a pair of 3D glasses and enjoying the awesome experience of being surrounded and encapsulated by your favourite game in a stunning 3D experience. As it stands NVidia’s “3D vision” technology has a list of pre-requisites including a 120hz HD monitor, an approved GPU with a dual-link DVI connection as well as a pair of battery powered 3D glasses with a USB IR emitter. Asus have successfully incorporated all of this in one impressive package, allowing you; the end user to enjoy 3D gaming in all its glory.

The Radeon 5970

This is the first graphics card which will support DirectX 11 and as far as specs are concerned, this 2gb dual GPU card doubles its predecessor the Radeon 5870 a feat which in itself is quite impressive.

The Radeon HD 5970 is powered by a pair of 5800 series GPUs linked by a single PCB by a PCI Express bridge.

As most of us know, the Radeon HD 5870 is currently the fastest single GPU on the market, not only will the 5970 blow away any single graphics card available at the moment but it will feature much that the 5800 series has to offer such as Direct X 11 support. One of the card’s major selling points is its ability to drive six … yes six displays simultaneously.
